I have had these large Bubinga boards 11-13» times 69-71» long two « thick for 20 years and have used this wood in glass bow risers. I am going to try it as a belly wood in a trilam. Does anyone have any experience with Bubinga AS a belly wood?

I tried to make 2 trilams with bubinga as a belly and hickory as the core and back and both failed. I don't recall what failed on them. Grant it they were my first attempts at building bows so who knows if it was me or the wood. I'm guessing it was me. I had a nice big piece that had been in my shop for about 10 years so I thought I would give it a try. After both failures I went got some Ipe and have not had any issues since.

i have used it as core lams and it made a nice bow--as a stand alone belly-i'm no help--good luck!!

Several years back someone made an action core with bubinga and carbon. That would have been between glass though.
