I would like to send a HUGE shout-out to Gregg Coffey at Java Man archery for going above and beyond with Customer Service!!!  Gregg repaired my Java Man longbow FREE of charge and had it returned to me within 2-1/2 weeks!!!  If you are on the fence with one of Gregg's bows, this should give you a gentle nudge to take the leap.  Gregg, you have a customer for LIFE, or until you retire!!!  😊

Well..... Here is the "rest of the story".
I was unable to shoot the last night of our Summer 3D League and Championship because of an unfortunate mishap on the practice range. When I shot the last arrow in my quiver, there was a horrible noise and vibration felt in my bow hand. After looking at my hand and arm for blood, I immediately looked at my bow and was heartbroken to learn that the upper limb tip was split in several locations. Upon retrieval of the arrow, or arrow pieces, it was evident that the arrow had come apart on release and resulted in my bow essentially being dry-fired. In my 38+ years of shooting various bows, both traditional and compound, I have never had an arrow "blow-up" while shooting it. I have actually never had an arrow break in the location it had broken, approx. 2-1/2" from the nock end.
Unfortunately, the arrow manufacture is not willing to stand behind their product and stated that the arrow must have been damaged prior to the shot.  I am not even close to being inexperienced with archery, shooting indoors, outdoors, 3D, and competing all over.  I had previously been a staff-shooter for Elite Archery, Spothogg, Carbon Express (not them), and many others for years.  I constantly flex my arrows and inspect them for signs of damage.  I have snapped many arrows into two pieces and thrown many out when any suspect damage was found.  I firmly believe that this was a manufacturing defect, however, my 25+ years as a Quality Engineer in the automotive arena obviously does not qualify me to make such statements.  Needless to say, I purged my inventory of this particular manufactures arrows immediately, who I was also a staff shooter for, and resigned from their staff.

I am very aware that I should be thankful that I was not injured at all, nor was anyone shooting around me. I would have taken a couple scrapes or scratches to have save my longbow though!!

Mark, glad to hear all is well, Gregg is top notch that's for sure!!! Pretty sure my daughter is ordering one from him in January.  Had a friend with similar experience, and very different results from a very reputable bowyer.  Happy shooting.

Jason.
Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
