Duplicate a riser?

I have been searching for that perfect bow for years now, but my heart lies in the feel of a cheap Chinese special. I have an old bow that just fits me like a glove and I'm surgical with it. Prob is its a light weight and not my cup of joe for hunting at only 40#s. Does anyone know of a bowyer who can duplicate a riser? Man if I could get this sucker in something around the 70# mark I sure would be a happy camper. It's nothing special but man it just feels right in my hand.

Post some pics and maybe it'll be similar to another bowyer's style.

Sounds like what you need is someone who can duplicate the handle. Many custom bowyers can do that on their bows. Check around.

It a Bear Sanoma, from what I've heard it manufactured in China. But man it fits my hand nice.

Why not search for new limbs? That would be much easier.

The only make the limbs up to 45#s and I'm not sure if that riser can handle the stress of 70#+s. Never went that route. But I would prefer it in a one piece as well.

What will you do for limbs once you have the duplicate riser?

I wanna duplicate the riser but on a one piece 72-75# bow. The exact limb design doesn't concern me, and as Charlie suggested I might just need the grip. My concern is its the only "beefy riser" I have ever shot and don't know how that translates in the equation. That's why I said the complete riser.

You need to go to a few shoots. Ask to try other guys bows. That's a pretty generic looking handle, and I'd bet most bowyers could make something that matches the grip and shoots great. I see you're in Texas, close to Austin? I'd let you shoot my Toelke recurve.

Just as an example look at this,  It has very similar mass and design as the bow you showed but will go to the heavy weight.

I have used this bow as an example but man, there are a ton of recurves  out there that closely resemble the pic you showed.  You need to shop around.  The internet (google and this site) is your friend.....
