Hi guys.
Finaly I built myself a lam grinder to replace the jig I used on my oscillating spindle sander.
That thing worked well, but I couldn`t  get precision with it. Anyways..... I built this lam grinder,
very simple design. Seem to work well. The test pieces I ran through it came out consistent and square,
no waves (like I got from the spindle sander jig) and since I use 50 grid sandpaper on the drum, the lams
come out rough and ready for glue-up. So I`m happy :goldtooth:

I guess some of you had this kind of thing at the beginnig (or maybe using a self built grinder to this day)
so I`d love to know what you think and if there`s anything important I should know or take into account when using it, let me know.

Looks better than mine. All I have is kenny's phone number :biglaugh:

Nice work. My only advice would be to do a test piece each time you use it. Either the frame being made of wood, there's always a chance of movement.

I got one of those![attachment=1] Looks like you have wood screws holding your frame together, I ended up putting a 5/16 bolt and lock nut through each joint for rigidity. I also had to change the table adjustment, I was getting side to side slop with the bolt like yours. You might not have that issue, seeing that your drum is centered over the adjuster bolt.

  cool to see some  improvising  for power tools.

I have one of these that I built several years ago. The problem I have with mine is the inability to feed material through at a constant/steady feed rate. If you speed up, slow down or pause while feeding the wood it will cause a dip or ripple in the wood.  Has anyone adapted or designed a feeder on a grinder like this? If so I would like to see what was used and how it is set up.
If I'd known that I would live this long I'd have taken better care of myself.
