My shop is a small 2 car town home garage I have all the major bench tools cramed in it on wheels but its a pain to set up move tools set up dust collector move cars ect. some times I spend as much time setting up and taking down tools as using them and some days Im just plain lazy ,so I have back up hand tools and this one in the pic amazes me every time I use it , its as controlable as a band saw and is designed for up to 1 1/2 '' wood it has a roller guide and is speed adjustable and tunable it has a amazing smoth cut with the right blade combo its a good choice for limited space bowyers  ![attachment=1][attachment=2][attachment=3][attachment=4]

I use a saber saw all the time(also having limited space to play in), but not the Bosch brand.  I'll check that one out for the next time I need one.

I have seen, but don't currently own, a table for holding the saw blade-up and using it sorta like a scroll saw, or at least in a way that lets you more easily see the blade doing the cutting.

Hmmmm.  I might have to make myself a table like that...

Kennym has a saw that has a crank on it.

I guess it cuts for a minute on one cranking.

Said he bought it new in 1932..

I dunno:)

kennym

Every saw Roy uses has a crank on the back end of it!  :biglaugh:

I do have an old Craftsman jig saw, but the table is not quite square with blade, so it gets limited use....
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I too have an old Craftsman jig saw, bet it's at least 40 years old.

kennym

I bought mine from an old retired guy in 1974, not sure how long he used it!  Still works!

Mine was my Dads.

We used it when we built my house in 1968.

It has an all metal case and if you cut very long, the case would get so hot you could not hold it.

I have a old Craftsman up in the rafters havent used it in years bet it still works , but this Bosch has a roller guide like a band saw and you can adjust the attack angle it really is different from any other jig saw I have used it was designed to cut thick wood square !

Thats a nice Jigsaw! I had a crappy one, gave it away and bought a Bandsaw. It's amazing what can be done without big power tools.

Uff da....  I was born in 1974....  I'm 44, which, according to my kids, equals being an exhibit in Jurassic Park....

As far as jig saws like that, they're also useful for making bow forms when you're working by yourself and the material is too awkward to manipulate on the bandsaw.  So much easier to use the jigsaw and then clean up the cut with the router.

That is truth!! I have an addon table for the outfeed on the bandsaw, but it has to be pretty big with a curvy D/R !!

The Jigsaw was my first power tool...  I was 6 years old...  First things I made were boomerangs... They almost came back...  LOL...

Roy from Pa

LOL

Some of Kenny's first bows looked like boomerangs.

kennym

Heck a couple last year did!  :biglaugh:

I'd be careful what I wished for on the arrows coming back at you.
