Got my new J.Holden fawn bleat in today and it is amazing! Made from Zebra wood and sounds great. I compared it to some videos of an actual fawn and it is very cool. Getting excited to use it this upcoming season to say the least! :bigsmyl:

Could you send a website/information where you purchased this call?

kennym

Remember to be in cover when you use it, as they will be on alert coming in.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Yep, try to have something between you and deer's vision when you draw. I'd rather the deer not know I'm on the same planet when the shot happens.  :wavey:

I'm figuring to be up off the ground in a stand if possible. Other option if my disability doesn't let me climb very high, will be a tree seat with a natural blind setup in front of me. If I go that route, I'll have plenty of back cover to ensure blending in. Been reading up on blind tactics here lately just in case.

So do they get more than does to respond?

I've been told that even bucks will sometimes respond to a fawn in distress call. For me though, as a disabled hunter, I have a hair tag. Buck, Doe or Fawn so, whatever comes in and is of decent size, will be fair game for my arrow. :bigsmyl:

The fawn bleat works well on coyotes as well. You could probably get some fawn destress calls out of that call as well to bring in yotes.I use it if I am deer hunting and see a coyote.

Thumper Dunker

A good fawn call can bring in any thing.  If you practice you can do rabbit screams ,distress chicken ,coyote howls and even woody wood pecker. Brought one in doing the supper chicken song on one. Real nice looking call looks like it should sound good.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.
Yip yipahooooo yipyipyip.
