the 28th Annual Rapids Archery Traditional Shoot  is June 16th and 17th.

The shoot is just north of Minneapolis in Andover MN: Rapids Archery Club 1255 133rd Avenue NW Andover, MN 55304

Rapids Archery will be putting on another great shoot this year. 60 target over three themed loops; African, Minnesota, and Western. Vendors, demo's (selfbow making, fint knapping, and blacksmithing), trade blanket, novelty shoot, and kids raffle. Camping on site or nearby. This year we will have Walt's Wings Food truck on site Saturday serving up smoked meats and other tasty treats like smoked biscuits and gravy and smoked mac & cheese.

I have been to many shoots across the country.  No other shoots put as much effort into setting up there courses then the Rapids club.  Each loop is unique.

I've shot it many many times, and it is definitely the premiere 3d shoot of the summer.  Can't make it this year with regrets but if you go you will have a great time.

We still have some poisen ivy around our course, but our club volunteers have really got it knocked back from what it was years ago. That and we intensively control for it on the loops. You will see some, but it should be easily avoided.

Thanks for the all the endorsements fellas! We are looking forward to another great shoot!

We are having a trade blanket Saturday from 11-1. Typical trade blanket rules, you can come and go with your trad archery wares as you please, must be present with your stuff, space is first come first serve, etc...you all know the etiquette.

Here is the link to our clubs website with additional information: https://www.rapidsarchery.net/traditional-shoot-information  Checkout the schedule of events for the weekend under the program link. We have a lot going on.  Let me know if your have any questions.

How is the highway construction this year?  That always seems to be the biggest issue in getting to the shoot.

There will be some construction. The ramp from 35W South on to 94 West will be closed. It can be avoided pretty easy through. Message me if you need help with alternative routes.

thanks for the extra info on poison ivy and road construction

A great shoot, my favourite of the year.  I've been enjoying this shoot since the beginning.  My son started going with me oin his early teens and he will be turning 35 in August!
It's become a Fathers Day tradition for us and for my hunting buddy and his son as well.

I'll be there, only missed 2 since it started, 1 for a Bear hunt and last year due to an infection. Always a great shoot!

The three 3D courses aren't set up until Friday so the answer to your question is not possible. Rapids Archery property is owned by the County but all the 3-D targets, target stands, labor, laborers and $$$ is purchased and done by the members of Rapids Archery Club.

Hi Mooshkat, like Caboo said, the courses are not open to the public until Saturday.

I see you're coming from Oconto...I grew up in Gillett. My parents still live there. Hope to get a chance to meet you. I should be in the Clubhouse most of Saturday morning, ask for Brent.
