The great philosopher Austin Powers once said " Oh no I've lost my mojo". Being the extremely talented and excellent archer that I am   :knothead: I know the only way to recapture  lost mojo is buying a new bow. A strategy all respecting archers know to be the way back. So a few weeks ago I decided to take a trip to see Steve Turay at Northern Mist. I went with no intention of buying a new bow, but was considering ordering one. I decided not to predetermine what I was going to do and for the first time I was going to let the bow pick me instead of picking the bow. Steve was incredibly nice and helpful took 4 hours with me talking, shooting, helping with my form and my son and I took him to lunch.  Steve shared some incredible hunting stories at lunch, and is just a pleasure to talk with. I shot bows in different lengths and weights from 53# to 70# in different models and different grips. I kept coming back to the same bow and was shooting it lights out. I have never felt a grip that fit my hand so well and my mind kept telling me you cant buy this bow its too heavy, but the draw was so smooth and I was not shaking one bit at full draw. Steve was shooting his 80# classic, and then shot his 102#er, so maybe all the testosterone flowing was effecting my brain  :biglaugh: After all the one I was considering was 32 pounds lighter than his! My son kept shaking his head as I shot saying "dad I have never seen you shoot groups like this."  So needless to say I walked out with the one I would have never thought I could have shot so well. A 64 inch NM  baraga 70#@28, with one of his quivers. I waited to post because I thought shooting that good may have just been a fluke, and when I got home all of the good shots will have fallen out of the bottom limb, but I have continued to shoot it far better than any other recurve or longbow I have owned. This morning I just pulled the trigger on another one of Steve's bows a 64 inch 3 piece Skanee takedown, while my wife was just in the other room. Another quote from philosopher Powers " I too like to live dangerously". Steve has been second to none in dealing with and for me this is  the best bow I have ever owned. Thank you Steve!

The bow is birdseye maple grip and tips with bamboo core and elm veneers

That's a pretty bow.  My shoulder started hurting from just reading about shooting a 100 pounder.  :biglaugh:  Congrats and I hope you keep shooting it well.

Nice pictures..

You posted all thumbnail pictures, which is fine.

After you select your picture from your PC or phone, just to the right of the little window where the picture name appears, click ( Insert Attachment 1 ). That will make the picture full size in your post.
