XOP VS LONEWOLF stands

I am looking at stands, need a hang on.

I have lone wolf tree steps. will they attach to an xop?

what are the pros/cons and differences of the two stands? they are similarly priced. xop a little cheaper but not much.

I would be interested to hear about this as well. I have used lone wolf in the past and feel that it is an outstanding product, but have no experience with XOP..

Andre owned Lone Wolf. Andre's son (can't remember his name) owns XOP. LW used to be made in Milwaukee. The new owners moved operations to ILL. And, now I believe XOP is in Iowa.

I have both and with just a few small differences they are interchangeable. The only real difference is the buttons(where the straps loops on) on the XOP are metal instead of the plastic on the lone wolfs, which is better as now the squirrels can't chew them to pieces.

I watched a review on YouTube comparing both. The Lone Wolf seem to be better built. I have used the lone wolf Assault the past 5 years and for my needs as a mobile bowhunter it's the best stand I have ever owned. I will also add that I see way more used XOP stands for sale than LW.

I have 5 LWAlpha hang ons and 1 XOP with 6 sets of 4 LW sticks and the quality of the LWs is probably a little better but I can say from experience that it's not much different. As I said I do like the metal buttons on the XOPs because I have to replace the ones on the Alphas every couple of years due to the fact the squirrels seem to like the plastic. I will not have that problem with the XOP. I do agree hands down that the Alphas with the sticks are the best setup I have ever used. That is the reason I have five of them. I purchased the XOP when it was on sale and have not been disappointed in it either.

I have a couple of Lone Wolf stands and a couple sets of Lone Wolf sticks. Both worth great. I recently bought a couple of the Hawk Helium stands and they are terrific. Give them a look. About a $100 cheaper than the Lone Wolf stands.

Thank you for all the comments. I went to you tube and saw the review, thanks sawpilot for the suggestion.

It looks like they are relatively the same. Will the Lone wolf climbing sticks work with the XOP stand as far as packing them? I need to be mobile and do not want a set up that clinkety Clanks when I walk. also want ease of set up.

I saw the Hawk stands. They look nice but I still have the same question about the LW climbing sticks...

If you are talking about fitting into the grooves on the seat and the bottom of the platform, the answer is no. But most hunters never attach the sticks to their stands that way anyway. Most lay them flat and attach with some type of bungee. So from that sense, any sticks will attach to any stand. To be honest, I don't really like the LW sticks as well as some of the others. There may not be a better stand than the LW but their are many better climbing stick options.

If you want stealth and not clankiness, get some of the EZY® Climb Folding Rope Tree Step.

I am no tree stand expert but all the story's I have heard of guys falling I don't do cheap. I have two Lone Wolf a climber and a hang on both are awesome.

If your looking from a durabilty standpoint, I can say the LoneWolf stands really stand up in that dept.

i've had this one almost 25yrs. It's got their original rope tensioning system as opposed to their current system (you can barely see the rope atop the seat in pic). This stand has weathered for multiple seasons in one location over the years and barely shows signs of fading or weakness at pivot points. I've been using Milenium climbing sticks with it lately.

I wish they still made this particular model, as I'd buy 2-3 more for their lightweight and robust nature

I have the Hawk. I like it, but this year I used the hawk helium sticks and a Millinium m60 stand. it was very nice and the most comfortable set up yet.
