Well this morning as I crawled in my ladder stand I thought i could hear deer up the ridge well sure enough it was hardly light (i mean i couldn't see him at first it was so dark) and a small buck eased in he hung around and eased off to bed.

30 min later i hear deer coming and get ready 2 does come up to my spot but skirt me around a blow down... Well i kinda gave up on em and i hear a racket and they have came through the top of the blow down crazy things... i had em at 5 yards but was just all tied up and couldn't get it done....

9:30 i swear i hear a bow go off not 100yds from me deer run and one gets up on the ridge above me and blows a few times.  At this point he's up wind of me and i have no idea what he's blowing at. (we did investigate and found no stand it may have been a branch breaking or something) Any way i'm just hangin out and all of a sudden theres a deer broad side at 30 yards he's angling toward me he's about to hit a 20 yard hole i put tension on the string and he turns and comes straight to me... now he's 15 yards and i'm feeling good about it. About then a dern squirrel goes nuts about 100 yards behind him and he starts lookin, I knew he was on edge and a shot at him standing still was crazy i waited for him to ease down the trail he hit an opening I drew and let it fly he ducked like he was in the matrix. I spined him, I got down eased over to him placed another shot in both lungs and thanked him for the food he was providing as he looked to me as to say your welcome he drifted away.

Beautiful lil 6 pt in full velvet my 1st buck ever in velvet and 1st buck with my bow. Now here's the cool part I literally glued this bow up tues night and finished it friday. Lorren got my bow i was gonna use so i got to take this gem and it paid off......
made even sweeter as my boys got to come "help me find him" and the fact that i harvested such a fine animal on the anniversary of the worst day in our history.

God Bless the men and women of 9/11 this one is for you!
