I started the process of changing my shop lights from fluorescent to LED, I ordered 50 unshunted tombstones for $12 off fleabay then a dozen one end power LED tubes off Amazon. After I ordered the new tombstones I noticed the LED tubes came with new unshunted tombstones.

I am doing away with the ballasts in my old light fixtures and going to wiring direct. On the first fixture I took apart both the ballasts were shot and leaking oil, I can change to LEDs cheaper than I can buy two new ballasts for this 4 tube fixture.

I should have 1/3 more light in my shop with the LEDs as their lumen output is considerably more.

I bought 50 tombstones for $12, if one were to buy them locally they would cost up to $3 each

Great idea, Eric.

That got me thinking now.

I have 4, double bulb 8 foot long fluorescent fixtures in my shop.

They put out heat, nice in winter, bad in summer, bad on electric bill all the time.

LED's would be the way to go.

I'm not home getting any bow work done but did manage to catch this redfish.

Much better than the big, ugly carp I caught down at Pueblo.....

Roy from Pa

Looks like that red fish caught a big ugly carp.

LOL

Have a 4 day camping trad shoot coming up next weekend.

Made the 15 year old grandson some new arrows..

And won him a tomahawk on the St Jude auction.

He is so into the primitive side of the outdoors that I just keep fueling the fire..

Good work there Roy.  Can't believe your inconsistently inappropriate remarks wherein you compare me to a fish!  OTOH, given the magnificence of the fish, it's actually kinda flattering.

Speaking of grandsons, here are two of mine putting a frankenbow to good use.

I got the bocote bow tapered and ended up pretty happy with the tiller. It's a little lighter than I'd hoped at 44# but I won't complain a bit. The tips are 85% shaped and now I need to figure out what I am going to put on it for overlay.

I think my outer few inches might be a bit stiff on that right limb....

Lonnie, did you use tip wedges?  If so, I think your fine. I like to see the tips keep a little reflex.

I did, it's one of Kenny's super lams.

Draw the centerline and one limb on cardboard or butcher paper, flip bow end for end and it will show any difference.  I line the string up with bench edge , mark center , flip and compare.

Looks pretty good from here.

Did ya get rid of the glass streak/crack/whatever it is?
Stay sharp, Kenny.

skeaterbait

Sure did. I took it down to 1.25" wide and the taper was just enough to take it out.

1.25 '' & 44lb that's real good bet that bow is fast with losing 1/4 '' of width mass looking forward to your shooting report !

Cool!! Now to figure how it got there, eh? I woulda thought it would be visible when you taped it up.

Lay the glass on a black surface, sanded side up and most stuff will show up...
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Good to know, I will remember that. As far as how it got there, I would say over tight washers is the most likely but I have had the glass for a year and no matter how careful one is, things can happen in a year.
