I'll start off by saying this is my first attempt at a HBO bow. Actually I'd say it my first attempt at anything other the pyramid style board bows. Not really worried about the finshed draw weight but would like 35 lbs at least  going for a 28" draw length. After various mistakes ive got a "board" of z spliced osage fairly decent grain (quater sawn). 68"L x 1 1/2"W x 3/8" thick. Got a 1/8 hickory backing strip. My question is what would be a good design for that thin of osage belly?  I'm going to glue a handle on also to strengthen up my splice. . Thinking 8" long so the handle can be 4" and have 2" on each side to work into fades.  Pyramid from fades to tip or parallel limbs for a ways tapering to tips?  Thanks

How did your yellow heart bow go?

I don't have experience with Osage.  It doesn't grow here in the swamp and no one carries it.

Life is too short to use marginal bow wood
