How much Is too much?

Im trying to decide how long of a bow I can make off of my current form and still have an enjoyable bow to shoot.

I realize that as a general rule, longer bows are more forgiving to shoot. But as I get longer, I will also be getting more reflex. The form has 1-13/16" deflex. How much reflex can I put into it.

I know the most logical answer is build one and find out. But the next bow is going to be built with/for my son. So I'm trying to fit him the best I can. I want to build his longer than mine in hopes of getting a longer draw before stacking as he is only 13yrd old, but 6' tall and still growing.

@62" T/T it would have 2-5/8 reflex.

Not sure how you are measuring, but if your nocks are 2 5/8" ahead of riser back, that will be plenty.

I built one with the nocks 4" ahead if I remember correctly and it was a bi@#$ to shoot for me. Looking for speed then and failed that too. It now leans in the corner as a reminder...

A tip wedge helps string angle to get a bit more draw length before stack too.

Sorry. That would be 60" nock to nock. Nocks would be 2-1/8" ahead of riser.

Ah for pitty sakes, 2 5/8th is nuffen. This bow below has 4 inches of reflex at the tips. Don't be scared Ohio boy....

You prob have this, but check out the 60" on this, there is an inch from template to bottom of form for scale. It is a sweet bow and fairly fast too. I designed it with the tips a little more forward than the original 62/64" for my bro who draws 27" for some free horsepower.

You may be able to scale out and see how far ahead the tips are of riser back.

Roy , you are measuring total reflex from low point of curve in limb, right?

My form is built off of the basic design of the 58-60 form. I basically reduced both the riser and limb radiuses to shorten the 58" profile to 56".  
A little D&R may have been lost in the translation.
