I cleaned up some staves this afternoon.  My new pup got her first taste of osage.  She would grab a curl and take off with it.  When I swept it all in a pile she would jump in and scatter it all around.  I'm hoping she will be a good shop dog when she grows up.

Got the first phase of glue up done on a shorty for my nephew in between morning and evening hunts.

Was almost a catastrophe. Had half the lams and the riser coated in glue. Set the riser on the form and was working on smearing up the other half of the lams. That's when I heard something hit the floor.
That's right, the riser slid right off the form. Broke about 1/2" off of a fade. Quickly scraped off as much glue off as I could, then wiped down with acetone. Cut the fade off evenly and cut the other to match. Then a quick sand job to thin the fades back down. Didn't get them as thin as I would have liked, but I put a power lam in so I think I'll be fine.

Yep dont put the riser on there without clamping it down. Those fades will break everytime they hit the floor    :(

Sounds like I'm not the first one to have this dumb a** attack. Lol

Got the bow out of the form and cleaned up today. Looks like it will be just fine. Got the handle section (phase two) glued up today.

I let an ASL riser get out of my fingers on a belt sander.  Was able to recover a 14" riser from an 18".  It sits in the shop waiting on its raeson d etre

Knobs showed up for my adjustable height in feed/out feed table I put together for the band saw.  Needed something to be up at about 45 inches to meet up with the table of the saw,  but I didn't want some bulky tall thing that took up a lot of space.  This table will fold up with loosening of the knobs and folding the legs under the table,  leaving you with just the table top to have to hide away when not in use.  With the adjustable legs, it can be used for things other than the band saw.

I was getting ready to make up some arrows.
Tried the chopper on a couple and could see the blade needed sharpening again.
Those blades are a pain to sharpen...bendy and ya have to keep the whole edge on the same plane.
I've done it a couple times...just didn't feel like doing it again.

...So I whipped up a burner out of some junk I had laying around.
..didn't have to buy a single new thing.
Works pretty good.
Tried it first without the dimmer switch...wire got so hot the feathers caught fire lol.

So I wired it up so the dimmer varies the power going into the charger.
Works like a charm...but sure as heck doesn't smell like one.
WAY easier than chopping a bunch.

I agree.  That's an excellent wood combination.  I love it.
