I am in the final stages of two Christmas bows. the Osage bow is for my 14 year old niece. I am feeling the time pressure on that one as she lives in Colorado and I need to get it in the mail. My brother called me a couple of weeks ago with the request. He did not give me much notice! That's family for you.

Veneers and Lams came from Troy B. And Glass from Big Jim. I am happy to report that the glass was clear and streak free!

The Osage is 35#@28" -62" mild D/R the riser is Bubinga and cocobolo and Bubinga nock overlays.

The other bow is 55#@28" - also 62" mild D/R. Shedua veneers red elm core wood. The riser is hickory with Bubinga. I used Black Locust for nock overlays and riser overlay.

I just took a break and shot the 55# Shedua bow and I have to say it is smooth and quick. My first four arrows were in a 2" group with feathers touching. I was shooting from 12 yards.

Ok just a few more pics of the bow I shipped out to my niece today. I have been struggling to get a quality finish on my bows but am getting very happy with the success of the last few bows.

I love Osage wood- even if it is just a veneer in a glass bow...Roy...   :D

It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.
