about to do a glue up, and my acetone is finished, can i use isoprop. alcohol to clean the glass before glue up?
thanks

fujimo

or should denatured alcohol only be used?
gotta be someone on here that would know- hoping to do the glue up tonight    :D

Household Isoprophyl Alcohol is usually 70-90% strength..not sure what the other 10-30% is, could be water? I have some 98% in my lab, it doesn't flash fast like denatured alcohol. I keep denatured alcohol in my shop..but use a clean stiff nylon bristle brush to clean glass and lams before glue up. I have used denatured on glass once and didn't have a problem..

I only use 'Metho' our idiom for metholated spirits, not sure what it's called there with absolutely no problems at all.

Just blow it off with air or use a stiff brush to clean it-

was just worried that a spot had got contaminated, somewhere in my handling.

metho is denatured bob- i use it in the marine stove on my boat

Denatured will work well. Make sure to post pics of the finished product!
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

I prefer denatured alcohol over acetone. Sometimes acetone seems to leave a residue behind.
