Buemaker it is rolling. It spins until you touch it then it stops.

Awesome.  This is on my to-do list again. The original fixed phenolic collar I made for my grizz worked great for a few years but finally gave out last week.    

I also like your white table on the side, the cast iron table that comes with the unit is nice, heavy duty and flat, but I am not sure how they ever approved such a poor and flimsey way to attach that cast iron table to the unit.

That looks sweet! I had to change my pattern sander rub collar from bearing to fixed collar. The bearing works great, but even the sealed ones will stiffen a little over time. Started to make wear spots on my forms...even my aluminum forms.

Been thinking about making a new one...I guess I'm just a tool whore

I'll keep an eye on the Bearing and replace it if it gets stiff. Cheaper than rebuilding the set up. I don't make that many bow per year anyhow.

It will work fine for you...maybe forever.
I should have said that it didn't really get stiff, but that because the bearing is spinning at 1725 rpms until it hits the form, the slowing and stopping over a couple hundred bows a year for a couple years, it has taken a toll on my bow jigs...both wood and aluminum.

For most, that wouldn't become an issue.

Mine used to spin too. I jammed it so it wont turn. I like it much better this way.
My vote for any future diy builds is a rub collar.
