I found a nice ERC board that I got a knot free slat from.  It's backed with rift sawn red elm and I glued some reflex into it.  I'm just finishing it now and put on a coat of natural finish Danish Oil.  I think it's the prettiest bow wood I've worked with.

ERC is sweet stuff, I love the smell of it too..  :)  Nice Greg

very very pretty- does the back of the handle have a dip, did you pre-bend the elm to follow that, os was the backing thin enough, that it just followed the curve.
very nice bow mate   ;)

How does it shoot?  From what I can see it looks nice but I'd like to see more of it; braced, unbraced , full draw.

Great bow.  The cedar is cool looking stuff

Thanks for the comments, guys.  I think the camera angle makes it look like the back of the handle has a dip, Wayne.  I made the elm backing 1/8" thick and glued in 3" of reflex on my form.  It holds 2 1/4" of it after putting 100 arrows thru it.
I like the way it shoots, Pat.  Fairly quick and accurate when I don't flinch    :)   I've heard that ERC shatters badly when it breaks, so I'm working on not thinking about that.  It was a very straight grained and clean board.
I made it 68" long, 1 5/8" at the fades and 45# @ 27".  ERC is some light stuff and the elm is as well.  The bow weighs 14 1/2 oz.

I've done some sanding on the outer limbs trying to make them less stiff since these pics were taken.  Thanks for looking!

Yeah, Roy, I love that sweet smell of cedar.  My basement actually smells pretty good these days    :)   Probably going to be awhile until I make another trip to that lumberyard, but if I find a good ERC board there next time, I can send you a 6 foot by 2" wide piece if you want it.  Their boards are a full inch thick.

Sounds like a plan, Greg. You can cut it down to 36" for cheaper shipping. Thanks dude

Bows tiller looks great.

You bet, Roy.  I have a 38" cutoff piece that's rift sawn but straight grained without knots.  It's about 60/40 sapwood/heartwood.  Want that one for now until I get another heartwood board?
Thanks for all the advice and gentle encouragement    :D   along the way.
