Pretty straight foreword question has anyone made a 2 piece take down pyramid style bow using either a metal sleeve or fiber glass sleeve? Is this even doable since they are supposed to bend ever so slightly in the handle?

PEARL DRUMS

Pyramids don't bend in the handle. Pyramid is just the profile shape of the limbs, no parallel section. Straight tapers from fade to tip. Yes, you can use a sleeve set on that. Now if your making a bandy handle bow, of course not. Brass and steel wont budge.

What Pearl Drums said.  Pyramid is the limb taper shape, not the handle status.  If it has a round-ish handle you can use a sleeve set to make it a takedown.

i made a rawhide backed white oak 2pc takedown for my brother awhile back. used fiberglass cloth and epoxy for the sleeve. followed Big Jims style from his vids on his site. it was 66" flipped tips and came in 62@28. 2 1/4" at fades tapered to 3/8" at tips. handle section was 1 X 1 3/4 X 4 1/4. i put about a thousand shots through it to make sure the sleeve would handle it. so far so good. he takes it out to the woods near every weekend and never a prob. he drives a lil car so a 1pc bow was too big.

Nice bow, Jim. What is the width at the fades?
