Re-Limbing Broken Bow

I had posted this in Pow wow but it was suggested to me to bring it to this forum.
I have a 1969 69" Kodiak Special that had one limb broken during shipping. The riser is gorgeous and I was wondering whether or not it would be feasible to cut the riser and pick up some limbs for it? I was thinking to utilize the type of limb that had one "bolt" and an alignment pin, flush mounted. After checking the cost of building limbs, I have concluded that I would be better off purchasing some that were already made.
Has anyone done this?
I am a very experienced woodworker with a complete shop, but have no Bowyer experience.

This is a Pearson that I replaced the limbs and cut the riser and installed an cherry accent. One of the limbs was completely broken, the bow shoots perfect now.

I've been planning to do that for awhile now. I have an old recurve that my grandpa made that I broke one of the limbs on. It's not super fancy, but has sentimental value. Glad to see someone else who has done it successfully.

If I understand it right, you want to take a one-piece bow and salvage the riser to make a 3-piece takedown? I don't have a lot of experience messing around with takedown designs, but they all seem to have beefier risers in the bolt area than a one-piece riser. It would be tough to safely modify that riser to accept pre-made limbs.
