I've seen many professional bowyers along with some of you use a pattern sander. Is this something that is custom made for you or can you find on online. I have been trying to locate one but can not as of yet.

I have several solutions. The last one is a modified belt sander with a larger belt and a wheel with a ball bearing. But the belt moves (up/down) during sanding.
The best solution i own is a jet spindle sander. I (let) made an inlay with an edge on it. So i have an offset to the contour but this works fine. I am already searching for a solution with an edgesander but will not invest in a new edgesander.
Search on youtube for the alberty archery videos.

this is a jig that fits my spindle sander
something similar could fitted to an end table on an edge sander

I'm want to modify an edge sander or shop build one to preform pattern sanding-there are some great shop built sanders in stalkers build-along video

The part that the template rubs against. Is that just metal attached to the table that is clamped on?

Here a picture for my spindle sander solution

the steel rub plate is screwed to the wood jig
and the wood jig is double thick and fitted through the cast iron table and clamped on the edges--pretty firm but easily removed

nice set up gundog! very clean!!
my set up was a prototype/mock up that worked so well I never changed it!

Thanks guys... I have an appointment to speak with the machinist at my dad's work tomorrow. Gonna see what he comes up with if I show him the setup that South is using from Stalker Stickbows.
