I am having some issues with string alignment on a short static tipped recurve.  It is a three piece bow that is 56" NTN.  I've tried deepening the knock and sanding the opposite side of the limb but have had no success....Need some advice.

I will try and post some pics tonight.  Boss man says got to work today.  Ha Ha

On a three peice, check to make sure the limbs aren't shifting in the pocket once you put tension on them by bracing. Other than that you could do the string with hanging weights on each end test to make sure of the total bow alignment at rest. That will help you determine true center of the limb tips. Once you have that you can make adjustments from there. It's sounds like though if you are not seeing the alignment shift after adjustment then the limb base may be shifting in the pocket.

Thanks Mike.

Pat it is a glass bow this time.

David; Lay the strung bow on a flet surface. Now measure the tip distance to that surface. now flip the bow ovwer and measure again.  The same distance??  if not, limbs are not aligned in the pockets. Get a large sledge hammer (min. 45#) and made adjustments. !!! :-)  Ray
