Most of the time it is defects in the glass. I have tried using different brands of glass in the past and have had some streaks from time to time...especially with dark veneers. Gordon glass has been the best quality that I have found.

I was looking forward to building bows this weekend until I received my last order of glass from Bingham's; nine of the ten sticks are going back.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

It is most likely in the glass, the thing I hated most about selling clear glass.

I checked every pc before it went out, and still missed some streaks occasionally.

If you lay it on a black surface with sanded side up, you can catch most streaks. My bench still has black a phenolic surface.....
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I just got 2 pcs of white that had a weird spot -I got out a magnifying glass and my strongest reading glasses for a closer look--
it appeared to be a spot/streak that had  less or no glass-
-and a bubble that was sanded in half-leaving a hole/cavity in the sanded side of the glass
I was brushing off the glass and about to mix-up

glad I caught it!!
