phenolic vs. aluminum is one any better than the other for use as pressure strip in bow form?

I'm speaking from little experience but my question to you is which side of the form?  If it's an air hose form phenolic/formica on the bottom but aluminum seems to be much better on the top.  The top meaning next to the air hose.

Would the phenolic get soft at 170 degrees? Like when it heats up in the oven? I would use 1/8" alum, if i had to..I bought 6 galvanized metal pressure strips from Bingham's in 2009..still have 3 unused ones. I think BigJim sells the galvanized strips now

I use the aluminum strips on the bottom of the form as it will help to bridge miner wash-boarding and unevenness.
For the top, I suggest a 20ga galvanized metal pressure strip. They are very durable and much more formable than aluminum.
We sell the metal pressure strips because that is what works.
Should be on our website.
thanks, bigjim
