Bought the blue prints for the form, and the blue prints for the 64 inch bow.
Has anyone used the prints for the actual bow as a template? They seem pretty rough to me. Would it be better to just taper the limbs straight down from a point near the riser, or...
If anyone has built this bow, could you let me know what you did.

just got done with them and yes they are rough especially for the limb profile.  make yourself a pattern(we didnt) and make it equal on both sides.  it will save you a huge headache.  i have the plans scanned full size if you mess up the first set and you could have them reprinted.

what i did was use the paper template with no changes .
i am on bow#4 and #5 all is well.
and like fox said make a pattern , full length maybe out of 1/4" plywood .
i wouldn't change anything.

My Bingham plans had a slight parallax caused presumably from the blueprint copying process. I placed a transparent grid over the blueprint limb profile and found that it was not symmetric. I'm sure this would have caused some tillering challenges down the road so I decided to replot the profile in Excel using my best hand measurements of the blueprint for the average limb X-Y data points. I then replotted 1:1 on a large size printer. I've built 3 bows so far and have not seen any limb twist.

i was laying out limbs on the bow and realized that you was not talking about the form . DOH!..
for the limbs i measured 12 1/2" out from the center line of riser both ways marked for 1/2" tips used a straight edge .

thanks for the response guys. I think ill go with the straight taper.

I go 12" from center of the riser both ways and then taper to 1/2" tips. If you taper from the fades you may need more than .002 taper in your lams.
