I took  took all the info from every body and ordered  BLUE PRINT   TAPERS AND PAR.BLUE PRINT IS FOR  A 62 " HYBRID, I ORDERED FROM BINGHAM. THE QUESTION IS THE BLUE PRINT CALLS FOR 2 PIECES OF 1/2 PLY WOOD GLULED TOGETHER, ,I DID THAT.  PUT THE TAPERS AN PAR MESURERS 1 1/2, DO I TRIM THEM DOWN TO THE THICKNESS OF MY FORM, IT LOOKS LIKE IT  OVER HANGS ABOUT 1/8. ' 1/6 ON EACH SIDE.  I,M GOING TO USE THE AIR HOSE  SYSTEM. THANKS BUCK

I think you misread the instructions. Your form should be 1.5" wide. So that would be three 1/2" pieces glued together.

I'm confused.  Most longbow forms are 1.5" thick, meaning they are usually made up of gluing two pieces of 3/4" plywood.  Your 1.5" strips shouldn't hang off the edges, but if it's only an 1/8, you might be able to get away with it.

you shouldnt have to cut anything down. should be 2, 3/4" plywood or 3, 1/2" . maybe the plywood was mixed in wrong stack at the store? everything should fit pretty much perfect.If it where me i would make another form.not saying that wont work .i just like be sure. definitely would not cut down the lams.
good luck.

I think alot of you are forgetting that when you buy most 3/4" plywood it's not a try 3/4". Like everything else in the wood industry it's undersized. Same thing with 1/2".

That's cause it'd be too easy if 3/4" was actually 3/4"

yup= x2 Troy
i use 2 x 3/4's plus a door skin or some other thin ply in the middle- then i sand down to thickness.
my first form i didnt have a sander- so i just chiseled out recesses where my side retainers went- so they were 1.5" apart- then the form can be wider.

Can't remember for sure but, the last time I used plywood to make a form I think it was two 1/2" and one 5/8" and it came out very close to 1.5".  I believe the LVL is full thickness ie 1.5" is a true 1.5".

Ditto the above. I have had to use 1/8'' ply to add thickness to 3 x 1/2'' ply , of course we are metric so sheet sizes are actually 12mm, and the skinny one is 3mm. My next form for a 'curve will be LVL when I can find couple short lengths of required size.
