Gotta question...
Been building a few bows. Straight limb hill styles. Seems here lately they have been takins a set right from the start. This is aggravating me pretty bad. They are good shooters but dang it If I wanted sa string follow bow then I would have built one!
Just tried a composite longbow with hickory back and even put some backseat in the form. Strung it up and was working on the tiller, by the time I got it were I wanted it it'd taken a heck of a set...
Need some advice/suggestions.
Moisture in the wood?
Using Gordon's ULS .050 on glass bows

Wood not dry enough would be my first guess. Or pulling it too or past your intended draw weight before it was completely tillered out to your draw length would be my second guess. Improper tillering would be my third guess. And anytime you build just a straight limbed bow, it's going to take some set, unless it's a glass bow. Inducing reflex from mid limb out of about of 3" could yield you an almost straight bow or one with maybe 1" of reflex after tillering is done.

If the form for your straight limb hill style bows is also straight, they will take some set after the first stringing.  All of mine have a touch.  No big deal and if they still shoot good for you, I don't see a problem.

Any bow coming off any type of form will not have the exact shape of the form once the bow is done.  R/D bows and recurves will have some spring back to a more straight profile right off the form, and then a little more after stringing.  The only way to end up with a perfectly straight Hill style bow would be to have some back set built into the form.

Thanks fellas for the input, what is a good moisture for my lams? I went out and bought a little moisture meter to check them before a glue up.

"pulling it too or past your intended draw weight"   yep what Roy said, I was pulling to much. My last couple bows have taken maybe 3/4"  to  1" of set.
