A friend(and fellow Trad Ganger) made me this as a blank and I finished it up. I had to trim it fairly short to get the weight I wanted, but it still draws smooth enough to suit me.......at my draw length of 26.5 inches where it registers 62# according to my scale.
Shoots quiet(almost silent) and quick, with no hand shock to speak of. My new favorite bow. Thanks Bob.

Been shooting it for a month or so, and finally getting around to posting pics.
Black glass on the belly, brown on the back, action boo lams and cocobolo riser.

very cool bow. I've been debating building a short hill bow for myself of 60" for a 25" draw.

Seems like that length is perfect after seeing this bow.

Thanks LittleBen,
I have built and shot a bunch of short limbed selfbows, so I don't mind a bit of stack.......this stacks less than my 58" osage bow.
Build one up, and see how you like it.......maybe we'll start the next bow fad   :D   for dwarves anyway   :smileystooges:

Thanks guys,
I can't take much credit for the arrows........I did fletch them, but Snag did the hard stuff. I just had the good sense to order from a wood arrow wizard   :D

Do you happen to know the stack thickness for this bow?

Duncan

Beautiful set up. The bow, quiver and arrows just compliment each other. The spike shed is a nice touch on the quiver.

I just measured as best I could, and it's right around .380"........ plus 2x.040" glass.........4thou per inch taper total.

Thanks Duncan....that spike is actually from my first bow killed deer. A little Sitka blacktail from Moresby island in the Queen Charlottes.

It's been a long time since I was over there, but I hope to get back one of these days......I got the little buck who donated the antler to my quiver near gray bay, but that was probably 15 years ago. Might have to pick your brain on good places to hike for deer to get away from the road hunters.

yup, i got some sweet spots- and a boat or two- thats the key to success!!get to the old water access only logging camps and their road networks on moresby but above the park- awesome hunting- and no one else there- stay on the boat- hunt ashore- perfect!
some really nice hunting up in the alpine during the summer- kinda like high altitude mulie hunting!!
you holler when you want to come out- we'll do some hunting together!!

D

I agree the whole set up looks really good.  They go together great.  Well done.

Fine looking setup! Those arrows and quiver go perfect with it. It just needs a little blood and mud on it.  :goldtooth:

That'd be awesome! Sorry it took so long to reply, I was away from the computer. Took in an indoor 3d shoot. I managed 2nd place with this bow.......the guy who took 1st place is tough to beat.   :knothead:  Lots of fun.

Thanks guys, for the kind words.

Really like this bow. I have never shot a hill style bow, always seem to be very long. I like short bows and this one is relatively short. Very intriguing .
