How do you go about scribing your line on limbs before drilling?

I measure the width at several points using my mic and mark the center, then use a flexible steel ruler to draw the centerline. Even when you carefully square the limb in a drum sander it varies by a few thousandths along the length.

This will work on any bow limb that has been squared up. adjust your square until your pencil lines are on top of each other marking from both sides of the limb. Then hold your pencil at the end of the square and mark the center line.

So you need to get all the snot off and square the limb first.
That might be where I went wrong.

I am in the middle of doing this right now. I actually anchor the limbs to the riser with the limb bolts. then use a laser to find the centerline. just using the limb bolts I am able to adjust the limbs as needed to get the center correct. I then drill the alignment pins. I take a long metal yard stick and draw the centerline. I will post pics later this morning.

I will drill the alignment pins then come back and recheck the limb centerline with laser.

First of all, thats cheating and secondly,
what size pin are you running?
Looks small like a roll pin.
