Has anybody used tulipwood in a riser?  According to the specific gravity (.85 to .95), it's plenty hard enough.

It should be real good.I wish I could afford just enough to make a riser and laminations because it is some really beautiful stuff.

I have a piece I am using for a accent and it is very hard, should be good.

I would love to see a picture if they have. I have used it as veneers. I think that might look really cool in a riser.

When you've used it, does finish dark, or somewhere between dark and light?
