that got me so excited I for got to post I have mine bending to 18" and over 50lbs. I need to work on one limb a bit more to get it moving like the other. And I still have a string tracking issue. It is better but a long way to go. I think another steaming of the handle is needed. I got it half way where it needs to be. I am going to work on the tiller then worry about the string tracking.

Marked me as shipped...it is heading south ...it should enjoy its new home.

Just a short note:

To Swissbow
THANK YOU for the bow, it is Great!  It arrived today, unfortunately I only had a few minutes to shoot a couple of arrows, which all flew great and it stacked them in a small tight group.  I am on the road thru Sunday but I will take and post some pictures on Monday.

Thanks again Andy, You done GOOD.....REAL GOOD
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Well... This bow has proven to be, yet again, a challenge. I had good tiller, but one tip was pulling slightly off center. By the time I got that straight, I lost my tiller, and had to reduce the weight of the bottom limb to match. Now I'm a couple pounds light on draw. No big deal. Then I removed the tape and

BIG DEAL!!! I'm not sure the best way to go about this. Any suggestions?

The small cracks and dings are about an inch and a half above the end of the butt wedge.

Wick some thin super glue into the bolt hole glass and once dry chamfer the hole. On the one on the edge if you can wick any super glue in do so- looks like that part should go away if you round over those edges.

KellyG

We have 12 bows in the mail if I did not screw up the count.

Pheonixarcher

Thanks Trux. I will do the ca. But those blemishes on the limb edge look like cracks through the glass. I thought about trapping the limbs and tapering it out just after said blemish. I can't afford to loose any more weight. If I were to do that, would that cause too much bend in that portion of the limbs? My last set had some chrysaling just past the wedges on the back of the limb. I did use a stronger wedge this time, but these are also longer limbs for a longer draw.

USPS says mine was delivered yesterday. Glad to be done with that part of it, now just waiting for mine.   :campfire:    :coffee:

If those are cracks through the glass to the outside- then you should be able to fill them with thin ca. I would try and round over that edge some more.. if you trap or round over you are going to lose some weight-

I'm well on my way to getting my 4 attempt at a trade bow done. Sorry for the delay but everything that could go wrong, has.
This piece of osage is heavy with red streaks throughout it. It should make a very nice bow...if I do my part.    :bigsmyl:

Well, my skidloader hyd. oil overheated, so I came home and shot this baby!

Quiet as a churchmouse with no silencers and shoots great. My arras were a bit stiff for it, but might have some woodies that will work when I get a bit.

Nice, nice bow Pete!! May try her out on a late season hunt or 2 since it is a little lighter weight than mine. Thanks again man!

Glad you like it Kenny. It isn't fancy, just a plane Jane basic bow that I hope you find as satisfying to shoot as I did. Hop Hornbeam is one of my favorite self bow woods. It's easy to work with and so far , easy to get a shooter from.  If I remember  correctly that's a 10 strand Dynaflight string with 16 in the loops. Selfbows like good strings.
Herbie Haines from New Brunswick gave me the Staves a couple years ago when I was back home on a visit. I have 2  HHB staves left, for a special build I have in mind.

Nice bow Pete, and congrats Kenny! Everyone is turning out some really nice sticks this year.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm gonna do about those small cracks on the edge of the limbs. Yes, both limbs. In nearly the identical spot. I know what caused it , and I don't wanna talk about it. Lol. I tried to wick some ca in them, but I don't think it worked. I'll probly have to trap them.
And then I hit another speed bump. I glued my overlays on the back of the riser, and somehow ended up with a few small gaps in the glue lines. It would have been solid, but it bugged the crap out of me, so I ground them off and made new ones. I still have to glue them on, but I'm gonna make sure they're good before I waste anymore epoxy. If every build went like this one, I'd probly quit! Lol.

Kenny, you are getting a pretty good collection of selfies. Nice bow, Pete. Looks like a workhorse, not just another pretty face. She'll do her part if Kenny does.
