i have some 36"brown glass i want to use, is it ok to join it(scarfe joint) in the handle area of a 50# bow, and then an overlay.
or is one piece the only way to go- as it is brown, i really want to use it on the back- and not the belly
thanks

The 48  lb recurve I built last spring has the back glass ground out for 3or4" with no probs. it does have a phenolic   I- beam, so you might overlay with a chunk of glass . A bunch of the older bows have no glass thru handle in the back

No one's gonna call you a sissy if you go 1.75" wide ... or go 2" wide ... really 70's like.
