I have done a few self bows and would like to try my hand at glass laminated bows.  What essential tools do I need to get me going?  I need to purchase what I don't have.  Where would I get the best quality wood for the bows I will be building for a reasonable price?

Kenny, yet again!

Tools depends on how hard you want to work, a sanding block, hacksaw and sandpaper will get it done.

Went and looked at Kenny's website...awesome place!  Looks from the long and short of it as far as common bow would be about $100 in supplies to produce a bow.  I need to build me a form first though.

As far as tools that would come in handy....bandsaw, oscillating spindle sander or drum sander, belt/edge sander, and a good rasp.

Check out some of the build alongs on here to see what different folks use for the various portions of the process.  Here's one I did a little while ago.

And yes, Kenny's products are OK I guess   :goldtooth:

Kenny also has a good form he can help out with.

I just built a Kenny M 58" form and two bows off the form. It is a great balance of Reflex / Deflex. You can get all you need from him.
