Made a run to the local wood store this morning. Basically I was looking for a piece of Lacewood and Red Cedar.

Anyway, after talking to one of the sales guys and giving him an idea of what I might be interested in he smiled and said "let me show you something".

When he pulled the board out all I could say was "Whoa Baby"!!!!

It took me over an hour to figure and measure to get the best results. Not sure how many veneers I'll get, but I can say this may be a once in a lifetime find.

It's Spalted Black Walnut. I've never seen anything like it before and may never find anything like it again.

I'll be posting more pics and info on it over at the Sponsors Classified in my veneer and lamination thread.

Troy, please put me in for a set Thanks Jim G

Jim,

Have you on the list. Never thought I'd get something that would be this high in demand.

Glad I wasn't planning on keeping a set for myself. If so I'd be out of luck.  :biglaugh:

Jim,

I like them, but I can't keep them all. I kept enough of the dark Birdseye Maple to take care of me for awhile.

Besides, the better half has about put me in bows anonymous.

My wife still calls me a bow junky.  :biglaugh:

She tell everyone I could hunt with a different bow everyday for a month and still not use all of them.

I say "hey, just call me a prepper"...
