Howdy, all.  Having moved this year, I haven't built too many bows.  However, here is an osage selfbow that a friend asked me to make from a 12 year old stave that he was tired of chasing around his basement.  So, here's what I came up with.  It's 69" oal/67" ntn drawing 45#@28".  It's got water buffalo horn tip overlays with double nocks for easier and safer stringing.  The original stave was a lot more reflexed than I like, so I took a good bit out on my caul.  I left some character in it, though, especially coming out of the fade on the top limb.  She holds 1.5" of reflex and a fair amount of natural setback in the handle.  Thanks for looking!

Thanks, fellas, for the kind comments.  I appreciate them.  It's nice to finish a bow again.  I meet my friend later today for a weekend of camping and living history demonstrations at the local state historical park we be both work at.  I enjoy giving them to their new owner almost as much as I do building them.

I use a metal nibbed calligraphy pen dipped in black India ink.  Works well...except that I'm left handed!  Makes for a troublesome task to say the least  :)

Thanks, fellas.  Funny story...I got this bow all ready to roll and met up with my friend to deliver it this weekend while historical camping/trekking at our local 1820's log fort (a cool playhouse, to say the least).  Turns out he's a lefty and I didn't know it.  Ooops.  That's why I hesitate to cut a shelf on any of my bows.  I had all my "floppy-shelf-makin'-fixin's" with me, so she now sports an ambidextrous set of rests  :)
