Glue up question

getting ready to glue up my 2nd bow this week, this will be the first non kit bow, and I have a question.
on my kit, the belly side of the riser had a taper lam and the fiberglass, then parallels on the back side of the riser.
since I am using clear glass and a .030 parallel lam under it, will my taper still go belly side of the riser or will it go back side of the riser now?

David, is this a takedown bow or a one piece? On my takedown I like to use whatever lamination is thicker on the belly ( under the wedge) becaue I feel that the thinner lamination does a better job bending and making a better transition over the fade out of the wedge, also the belly of the bow is agents the form in my setup for my takedowns.

Now on my one piece bows I like the parallel to be on back of the bow because this makes it easier to shape my riser to fit in the form with no gaps. On my one piece bows my form is agents the back of the bow , opposite of my takedowns.

I don't think it matters which side ( back or belly) you have your parallel or taper on but once you decide how you like it stick with that . Hope this helps and post some pictures if you get a chance.

.040 glass.

this puts .180 top and bottom at riser, sound right?

Any chance this is a hill style bow? If yes I would recommend moving that .100+ parallel to the back of the riser and only having that taper on the belly side. The transition zone from the grip to the fadeouts can be a little hard to get good glue joints with thick lamination . Otherwise that sounds like a winner.

On all bow I make I do a dry run with no glue to make sure I get good glue joints , mainly around curves in the riser and the fadeouts. If I can't see light anywhere it is good to glue up.
