Hi guys.New guy here but been reading awhile.I just got up the nerve to try a binghams hybred kit.Finished the glue-up tonight.I have made self bows and bbi/bbo's but wanted to try a glass.I have admired the artistry and craftmanship you guys put into these bows and had to give it a try.I'll let you know how i make out once i get my shop chisled loose.A little of that smooth on goes a long way!Wish me luck-Joe

Welcome from sunny south Texas (and its hot too)

50 grit paper will grind off the extra glue....  :clapper:

Too much glue is better than too little (as long as you can get your form apart).

I'm looking forward to seeing some pics.

Hi guys. Took it off the form and cleaned it all up. Laid it out and got a string on it. It is 55 lbs. @ 28 in. Tiller looks like its bending too much at the fades but I think that's the design. Take a look and let me know what you think.

What taper rate did you use ? By increasing the taper you can move the bend away from the fades. With that much reflex you still have good string angle, even without tip wedges.

Nice job!!

I'm with Andy on the more taper, and also maybe a powerlam if that doesn't work.

I'm guessin you have .002, I would try .003 total taper if it were me.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Nice job!  Ditto  on the taper but I bet she will shoot just fine.

Thanks for looking fellas. It does have a .002 taper. The kit came with 2 peices of black plastic lam and 1 clear .040 clear fiberglass marked for the form? I got another .040 clear and made finish lams out of a piece of kentucky coffee tree to match the maple thickness i replaced.it does shoot well with light target carbons.I will keep your advice in mind for next time.I do need some practice on the glue up's though-Joe

I was really looking into trying this one out as a winter project and my first glass. how were the instructions and build? fairly simple for a newb?
