My coopers bench broke this weekend and I was considering going the a single-free standing vice I have seen some bowyers use.  WHere can one get such a thing?  Pictures?

Roy, how do you keep that shop so clean? Do you actually work in there, or is it just for show?  :bigsmyl:

3 Rivers sells a thing called a Stavepress that looks pretty cool, I have been thinking about getting one to try.

I have a stave press and I could be mounted on a bench or table or even a free standing post. I also have just a plain bench vice also.

I have a woodworkers vice on the end of my bench and have another board clamped to the bench that the limb I am not working on sits under. As I apply pressure on the limb any pivot is stopped by the board. Works well for me.

I like sitting and working outside.... Keenan's Stavemaster is not a vice but really saves the shoulders because of adjustable working possitions. I can put it in my truck and work on a bow anywhere  :)

Hey Coaster, got any more pics of that stavemaster, looks real cool. How wide a stave can you work on it, looks like it might be limited to narrower staves. More info would be great.

I made one for my hitch on my truck since I like working outside... cost $50 bucks in metal and six pack for my bro since he welded it up....
