Any body on here had a bow de laminate from being left strung for a week and exposed to the full effects of daily sun ?

saxtonyoung

I had a Jerry Hill d-laminate while it was strung up sitting about 4 feet away from a wood stove.

Anyone else got a similar event happen?

yep sure have, it'll do it every time. Never leave a strung bow in the sun, or in my case, even a hot garage out of the sun in south Alabama.  Was able to fix it with some Smooth On and some clamps, and I still shoot that bow some.

thanks arrow+. Friend left one of my bows I made him, 75# at 28'', 'boo cored glass backed longbow strung for a week and in a place where it got the full effects of the sun each day [ gets pretty hot here too] and although I haven't seen it yet apparently it has de laminated on one limb. I was fairly sure there was nothing wrong with the bow so i feel more likely that it was being strung and in the sun for so long. Did your bow separate much?

Bro left a prototype longbow in his pickup in the shade at work after shootin it at noon. Looked over about 3:00 and truck wasn't in the shade anymore. The black bed mat was waaaay too hot for a bow. It came apart- A LOT !
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Thanks Kenny. Gonna make him a new one at cost anyway, but I feel better now after seeing others with same predicament.
