Glue sizing question

Oops...I planned to apply some carp skins to my bow yesterday.  After I sized the back of my bow with Titebond 2, something came up (revised honeydew list) and I could not finish my project (it was my 11th anniversary so I had to reply with a "yes dear").  Is it okay that the glue I used to size the back of the bow is completely dry?  Should it have been tacky when I added another coat of glue for attaching the skins?  Do I need to do anything before resuming my project (i.e., re-size the back, sand, etc)?

Hope to continue my project this morning after getting a few responses.

Dino If it were mine I would lightly sand the glue, apply another coat and glue the skins on.I would want to scuff it so it can get a good "bite".Again this is just what i would do.I dont know about carp skins,but with snake skins a trick I was shown for putting skins on a light colored bow such as osage is to  color the back of it with a black sharpi marker before appling the skins.Really makes the color pop.Good Luck Keep us posted.SCott

Many times I will size the back of a bow with glue and let it cure out completely before adding the skins. I use this method as a vapor barrier to prevent the moisture from the skins and glue from entering the wood. TB glue will adhere to cured TB glue, no problem. Like Scott said a light sanding will help by giving you a clean surface to glue to.
