Been pounding some hours into my swap bow to get her done and would like some input on tiller. I have some ideas of were I need to go but would appreciate other perspectives. It is braced to 7" and pulled to 20". Right limb is about 1" longer than the left.

It looks pretty darn good so far! Your elipse shows a slightly stiff spot at about 2/3 out, but I'm betting with some excercise, those tips will come around a bit more. Looks really nice though.

I agree with Tom, Razorbak. The right limb could be showing stiff because it's an inch longer. I like limbs to be even in length. But that's just me.

Funny thing is my gizmo is showing that I need to remove wood 1/3 from the riser and leave the outer 1/3 alone. On the right limb there is a definite thin spot that will hinge if I'm not careful.

Looks good. As you proceed to full draw you can begin to remove wood the art 8 in as needed. I can't tell now. Jawge

Is the thin section you are talking about near the fade on the right limb? That area appears to be thin to me. My gizmo usually doesn't register very closely to the fade. As I scrape and tiller the gizmo marks even farther from the fade. Every once in a while, the gizmo will show that I need to remove wood from a spot that previously didn't need to be scraped. I think those are the times I've removed too much wood. And this usually happens while the limbs are still relatively thick.

No, Red Hill, the thin part is in the outer 1/3rd of the right limb. Is not hinging now and may be ok, i'll have to wait and see as I proceed. I think I will head to the shop and see how it proceeds witha little more tweeking. Don't want to get too excited about adjusting it and loose too much weight. I am close at the moment to where I want to be 35-40# @ 20" on my kids bathroom scale. I'm shooting for 50-60# so I think I should be good to go with a little more tillering and then shooting in.
At what point do you guys start shooting your bows in. I'm thinking of putting a couple of dozen short draw shots through it tonight after I get it bending nicely a couple more inches.

I would not pull it any further down the tree till the gizmo says it's perfect. Pictures can be deceiving. It does look good however, trust the gizmo.
