artifical snake backing

have any of you guys tryed the new snake backin 3 rivers and rudder bows  are selling i have a bow thats devloped some small cracks  im thinkin to use it  with the epoxy rasin  but what im really wonderin is  how much stronger than rawhide it s gonna be  im fixin to do some test strips  and bend test and find out just wonderin if anyones tryed it yet iv never used epoxy on a bows back yet  so this is all new ground thanks  brock

I backed my little recurve with fabric snake skin. I used Bow grip from Rudder bows. Turned out pretty good. I have pics on the (FIRST RECURVE) post. Pretty easy to do.

I have used both the rattlesnake and copperhead, both look pretty darn good in my opinion. I think the rattlesnake looks a little more realistic, but both look nice. Main thing is, don't judge it by what it looks like when you pull it out of the package. It looks much better once applied with a finish over it. I used TBIII and a satin clear over it. I put cloth snake skin on my recurve using bowgrip from Rudders. I also used bowgrip to coat the skin as a finish, looked great but after shooting a while it cracked across the limb about every 1/8"  in the workin gpart of the limb.
