Just made a 'boo cored flat laid, osage belly strip long bow It is 50#  @ 28'' and have been trying to perfect the tiller on it for 3m under. I have traced the upper limb  at full 28'' extension and flipped the bow and compared profiles and have them identical. Using split fingers it is virtually noiseless, but with 3 under, even changing brace heights, and nocking point I still get a little 'twang' on the shot.Tiller measurements at the fades are about i/16'' positive on the upper now , but have tried various tillers from bottom positive to upper positive to neutral and can get it virtually silent with split but not 3 under. What say you?

3 under is horribly loud. I shot 3 under for 10 years and swithced to split last year 3 weeks prior to deer season opening. I havent looked back. I dont believe there is way to tiller a bow to make 3 under quiet, Lord knows I tried for too long. Noise is just one aspect. I bet your arrows fly much better and more consistent as well.

Thanks Pearl Drums. I was starting to think that. I shoot split myself but made this one for a customer who will only shoot 3 under. What makes it worse he uses carbons, which I believe [ rightly or wrongly] due to lower mass dont absorb as much of the energy imparted by the bow as does woods.
