Do any of you gents have any experience or know where I can purchase some of the weaved carbon backing that is often seen?

Thank you,

Joe

aircraftspruce.com

they have pretty much everything to do with composites.

Thank you super....I will give them a look.

Dragonplate.com makes and sells whatever kind of carbon you could need. I've been pondering, but I like wood an awful lot.

monky, thank you. That is a great site.

No prob. I think they even sell 1/8x 1 1/2" strips. Sounds perfect for backing, but its just theory. I have no idea how it compares to glass, or boo, or paper, or any thing  else.

Carbon is so strong in tension that is would 'crush' and belly material, ive never tried it, but ive heard so from the best, but if you can find it cheap give it a try, but maybe with a belly like ipe or something really strong in compression.

I also wonder if you would have to do something to protect the raw edge of the carbon against nicks and impacts during normal use.

I think 1/8" of carbon on the back is way, way too much. Even for a glass bellied bow.

They sell 1/16" and 1/32" inch as well. Didn't know if that would be stout enough to hold reflex though.
