laser levels?

Haven't used a laser level yet but I have many projects that they would be useful for so which model of laser levels are you guys using?  Also- what model would you recommend if you were going to buy one or get another?  It appears to me that some project a straight line out (pin point) while others project a line on more of an "horizon".

I picked up mine form Lowes and it had a removable cap that turns it form a dot to a line. I think it cost me about $30 and it does everything I need. I dont think it is necessary to get the $100 option. Spend your extra money on cool wood.

I think as long as it will make a line, the rest is just gravy. Our walmart is selling one for 17.99 right now lol.

I don't think it takes a top o the line one either, as long as it is bright nuff to throw a beam, light never gets crooked!  :D

Yep. Use it to find centerline. Its a heck of a lot easier than a weighted string, and you can do it after the curves are already there.

Thanks, Kenny. That's a great thread you put together there. Somehow I missed it but now I'll be going over it. My main interest is in wood bows but any knowledge is good knowledge.

I believe you need to make sure a curved bow is level across it or the laser will be straight and the limbs tilted to make the center off where the tips go one way and the curves the other.
