How tall do you make your pillars for pillar tillering?

Mine are about 12" tall - don't think it makes a lot of difference - just want to get limbs bending to about brace height.  Anywhere around 10" or so should be ok.

I can't remember who it was that posted up their how to on pillar tillering but I want to thank them.  I got a bow to brace height yesterday WAY quicker than using the long string and tree.  Much easier to get an even tiller too.
My posts are 10 inches high btw.  The longer clamp you use the high posts can be.  But you could, in theory get away with maybe just 8 inches.  I haven't experiment with shorter posts yet.
Blessed be the Lord my strength; which teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

My ends are about 9" and I pad them with a strip from an old thick leather jacket so I don't open a door for trouble.

Thats good there Goose.  I never thought of just putting a notch like that and clamping them down.

Nice, Goose.  I think I'm going to copy that!
