I backed my first self bow yesterday with fiberglass drywall tape and TB3. There were some drops that fell off onto my work bench and they dried hard but are a little flexible. When I sanded them down to remove, they got a little gummy on the sander. It has been about 21 hours since I glued it up. The bow looks good and seems to be fine. But I wanted to check here to see if that is the normal properties of TB3. The only thing I can think of is that it got cold in my shop last night and that could have had something to do with it. But I had it up to 55-60 in there when I was doing the backing and it stayed that way until the glue was really dry to the touch.

Can you bring your glue up into your house for a day or so, just in case. The drops of glue are thicker than what was on your bow so it probably didn't have time to completely dry.

I keep the glue inside. I might have put the 2nd and 3rd coats of glue on too fast. Not sure. But Everything looks ok with the bow.

Let that stack up dry at least 5-6 days before you bend it at all, even longer. If your wondering how I know this its because I filled in a handle area with a glue sawdust concoction once and the center was gooey 3 days later, that was about 3/8" deep.

I use TB3 and find its flexable weeks after its applied. When I cleaned off the glue form I found I can "bend" the glue so I guess thats the way its supposed to be. If it was hard "stiff, it would break.
