Phenolic riser what finsh

I have made 2 riser that are mostly phenolic what finsh works best on them

Looked at a few places to get a big enough piece like that where did you get yours?

I use tru-oil for the first couple coats as it will soak into the linen fibers and it will give you that jet black finish.  Then I sand lightly, and spray with Thunderbird.  I noticed if I go straight to thunderbird without a few hand rubbed coats, it will not seep into the fibers but rather dry on top giving a whitish/uneven finish.  

Nice risers.

i've used a sharpie to camo the linen threads before finishing too
