Stain

If i'm going to stain a redoak boardbow,
 stain first,then can i use tru oil,or will the tru oil change the stain?I want it a dark color.                                     Ernie

If you use an oil stain give it a few days yo dry before adding the Tru-Oil.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

PEARL DRUMS

Tru oil or any sealer will darken any color stain up a shade or two usually. If you want dark colors's stick with the walnut hues. Dark and Special walnut are nice.

Weird, I just stained my red oak bow with Special Walnut this morning.  I think it looks great.  Good luck!
