Here's a bow I just finished off a new form.  I wanted to experiment a bit with more deflex.  Shoots good and "seems" plenty fast but haven't chronoed it yet.  As usual, lams from KennyM were perfect.

Specs:

62"
58# @ 28"
Rosewood & zebra riser w/ rengas tiger & white glass accent
Maple cores, red elm under glass
18" riser with 26" powerlam
.004 taper

Thanks!  I screwed up my first riser for this bow and threw this one together with what I had on hand.  Turns out it was a fortunate accident as I really like this wood combo.  That 3 pc you are tinkering with is on my list when you are ready to part with the design.

Good looking bow, deflex ain't a bad thing.  I'll take a forgiving and stable bow any day even if I have to give up a little speed.  Love the tip overlays really set it off.

Trux Turning

Nice! It does look like a shooter-good wood combos on the riser too.

what stack height did you use to get 58lbs and how thick was the glass u used.  i came in under my targeted lbs by about 8 lbs and our bows look very similiar.

Glunt

Stack total was .400 including 2 x .040 glass.  Thats with .004 total taper.  I cut it for a 64" bow but it was already about 53# so I shortened it to 62" and it was about 61# which left me some room to work with.  Limb face profile is just under 1.5" at the fades and 5/8th at the loops.  It also has a lam that is .060 and tapers to zero 4" past each fade.

one day i will be able to build such a great bows.   :)
these are not the droids you are looking for.

Great combo of woods in the riser and love how the tips match the riser accent.

Wheels belong on cars, not bows.

Thanks guys.  Its been kidnapped by a buddy already so I'm gonna scramble and try to get another on this form before elk season.  I have nice chunk of bubinga and a sharp piece of jobillo to build the riser.

Anyone have experience with jobillo and bows?  I don't see much about it.  Its got some weight to it.
